Terms of Use
Effective date: October 14, 2026 · Coin Value for iOS
1. Licence
Coin Value is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). The Standard EULA governs your use of the app; these terms add the points specific to Coin Value. In case of conflict, the Standard EULA prevails. The provider of the app is Caspar Baumeister, Dernburgstraße 7, 14057 Berlin, Germany (see Impressum).
2. Coin Value Plus
All features of the app require Coin Value Plus, an auto-renewable subscription that is available as:
- Weekly subscription: 2,99 € per week (German App Store; local prices may differ), starting with a 3-day free trial for new subscribers. After the trial the subscription is charged to your Apple ID and renews automatically each week unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period (during the trial: at least 24 hours before the trial ends). Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase the yearly subscription.
- Yearly subscription: 39,99 € per year (German App Store; local prices may differ), without a free trial. It is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase and renews automatically each year unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can cancel either subscription at any time in your iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
Payment, billing, cancellation and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's Media Services Terms. Refunds can be requested at reportaproblem.apple.com. Use “Restore purchases” in the app's Settings to re-activate Plus on a new device.
3. Values are estimates, not appraisals
Coin identifications and values shown in the app are produced automatically by an AI model from your photos together with catalog and market data. They are estimates for informational purposes only. They are not a professional appraisal, not a valuation certificate, not investment advice and not an offer to buy or sell. Identifications can be wrong, values depend heavily on the grade and authenticity of a coin, and market prices change. Do not rely on the app alone for buying, selling, insuring or declaring coins; have valuable pieces examined by a qualified dealer or grading service. Metal values are computed from published spot prices at the time shown and do not represent what a buyer will pay.
4. Acceptable use
The app is for personal, non-commercial use. Do not use it to identify anything other than coins, submit images containing personal data of others, attempt to reverse-engineer the recognition service, or send automated requests to it. We may rate-limit or block abusive use.
5. Availability and changes
Coin identification depends on a server and third-party AI and price services. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee that the service is uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or discontinue features, the catalog data or the AI model at any time. Your collection is stored on your device only; you are responsible for backing it up.
6. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the provider is liable without limitation only for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence the provider is liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract. Statutory rights of consumers remain unaffected.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the country in which you live also apply. The EU online dispute resolution platform can be found at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
