Coin identifier app for iPhone

The coin identifier that shows what your coin is worth

Photograph the front and the back. Coin Value identifies the coin, shows a collector value range for its grade, the metal value of silver and gold at today's price, and the total value of your collection.

Coin Value result: 5 Reichsmark 1928 A oak tree with 95 percent match, collector value range and metal value

How it works

  1. Photograph the front. Put the coin on a plain surface, fill the circle, tap. A detail shot of the date or mint mark is optional.
  2. Add the back. It often decides between the common and the rare variety.
  3. Read the result. Name, country, year, mint mark, catalog number, composition, mintage, value range and metal value. One tap adds it to your collection.
Coin Value: front and back of a 50 Pfennig coin, 97 percent match

Built like a coin catalog, fast like an app

Coin Value result: 2 euro 2006 D Schleswig-Holstein, 94 percent match, collector value 2.50 to 4.00 euros

Collector value with a reason

You get a value range for a typical grade and a short note on why the value is what it is. The match score in percent shows how sure the identification is, and for look-alike coins the app offers other matches.

Coin Value: 10 euro 2002 A Museum Island Berlin, collector value 28 to 36 euros, metal value 29.80 euros

Metal value at today's price

For silver and gold coins the app multiplies the fine weight by the current spot price. That is the floor nobody should sell below, shown separately from the collector value.

Coin Value collection: total value 542 euros with range and history, coins sorted by value

Your collection, valued

Every coin lands in your collection with photos, value range and notes. Total value, change since last month and a history chart at a glance. Sort by value, date or name, and search.

Honest about values

The app gives estimates based on catalog and market data, not an appraisal and not an offer to buy. Grade and authenticity decide the price. Have valuable coins checked by a dealer or grading service before you sell.

Frequently asked questions

What does Coin Value cost?
Coin Value Plus is one plan with everything included, billed weekly or yearly: a 3-day free trial, then €2.99 per week, or €39.99 per year (you save 74% compared to weekly). Prices are for the German App Store, other countries see their local price in the app. There is no ad-supported version.
How accurate are the values?
Values are estimates from catalog and market data for typical grades, not an appraisal and not an offer to buy. The grade of a coin can change its price many times over, and an AI model can be wrong, especially with blurry photos. Check the match score, compare the details with your coin and have valuable pieces checked by a dealer before selling.
Which coins does it recognize?
Circulation and commemorative coins from around the world, with a focus on euro coins (including 2 euro commemoratives), Deutsche Mark, Pfennig, Reichsmark and older German coins, plus US, UK and other modern issues. Medals, tokens and heavily worn pieces may not be recognized reliably.
Are my photos stored?
For identification the photos go to our server in the EU and on to an AI model. They are not stored there after the answer. The photos in your collection stay on your iPhone. See the privacy policy for details.
Do I need an account?
No. No sign-up, no login, no cloud. Your collection, values and notes stay on your device and work offline. Only identifying a new coin needs internet.
Is there an Android version?
No, Coin Value is for iPhone only, iOS 16 or later.
